Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Drivers Free Download

I finally bought myself a birthday present! A Scarlet 2i2 I want it so I can run it with my Smaart (7.5.2.1) and Maybe do some recording with the Protools First that comes with it.

And listen to music without going through my crappy sound card in my laptop. These all seem like noble goals, But, Alas, I'm dashed. I cant get this thing to work worth a hoot. I downloaded the latest driver from Focusrite website and installed it. When I plugged in the interface it would not load the driver and would say 'could not start device'. I did a bunch of searching on the web and found lots of people with similar problems and nobody with a solution.

I found some different drivers on the Beta.focusrite.com and I finally got it to pass some audio, although it was filled with clicks and pops. I tried 1 version older and the clicks and pops are gone, but Smaart crashes when it is connected. And it also stops passing audio after about 5 minutes. I would like to get this thing working, I really like its price, form factor, and the fact it is sitting on my desk. But do I need to send this thing back?

The Smaart store sells these things, so I'm hoping there is a way to make it work. Focusrite's tech support has not been very helpful so far, maybe that will change too.
